NEW CAMS?
Heres an article about it step by step install with new springs.

Unless you want to go with the No Springs Required cams that are being sold. I was going to go with the FRPP NSR cam but have now changed my mind and am installing a comp cams which needs replacement springs. I am dropping my car off at the shop today but it is not a cheap swap. I was quoted $700 for install then add in tuning etc. I wish I could do it myself but I am not that skilled.

If you get the Brenspeed or FRPP NSR cams, you shouldn't have to pay more than $300 or so for the installation. I would leave it to the pros. I was also led to believe you needed a few tools from Ford that end up costing about $300 if you do it yourself. You'll get the most power from a dyno tune, so after install, I would find a local dyno tuner. If you go with the Brenspeed cams, then an email tune would probably be sufficient (though I would still datalog and send the dyno and data back to Brenspeed to have the tune tweaked).
cheapest install price i could find for the nsr cams was $600. special tools are required. the frpp cams are probably $750 + 600 for install + 300 for a custom dyno tune (all local prices)
$1650 total

What possible "special tools" would be required for a cam swap other than possibly a gear puller?

Besides this I know people that have damaged their engines over installing cams wrong. They didn't learn the first time and blew 2 engines.
