Default MSD Launch Master Installed. Pics, Vids, Write-up, etc...

I just finished up installing my MSD Launch Master 2Step Rev Limiter. Works like a charm. The installation is super easy. You only have 2 wires to run. Everything else is plug and play harnesses in the engine bay.

For those who don't know what this does, here's a description from MSD:[*]Easily set a launch rpm for consistent holeshots[*]Connects to the factory coils for easy installation[*]The best way to launch hard The Launch Master connects right to your late model Ford to produce consistent launches and quicker 60-foot times by setting an rpm limit to stage with. When activated, the rpm will be held at a steady rpm and once the green light comes on, release the clutch and take off - but be sure to hold on! The rpm is adjusted with two built-in rotary dials ranging from 1,800 - 9,900 rpm in 100 rpm increments. A handy LED shows when the launch rev limit is active.

I'm not really feeling the wires flopping round the pedal levers or the micro switch [?] taped on to the clutch, but otherwise it looks like a very interesting thing.
Hmmmmm, where's my wife's credit card?

I know. The supplied wire from MSD wasn't quite long enough, and I didn't have an butt connectors on hand. I left slack in the other one so I can fix that up.

As far as the switch, the electrical tape wasn't needed, but I don't trust the 3M tape on uncoated metal, so better safe than sorry. It's solid and no one will ever see it, except for you guys.

Yes, but you have to disable a switch on the clutch that turns off cruise when the clutch is depressed. It also limits the revs by pulling fuel, which is definitely not safe, especially if you're running any forced induction.

No, if you read the notes in the write-up, I purchased it. You can use the clutch position switch built into the car, but I didn't want to tap into the existing wiring, just in case I ever get rid of the car. And obviously autos don't have that.

I'm going to be trying to find some kind of adhesive that will work with metal & plastic and not eat the plastic so I can get rid of the electrical tape. But it's working fine for now.

Why couldn't you use it with a blower? It cuts spark, not fuel, so it's fully blower safe.

Just mount the switch on the brake pedal. [sm=gears.gif]
