Lowering a v6 Stang
Hey guys i just got rims put on my car 20" and i want to lower my car about 2inches.
I was wondering whats the cheapest set of springs out there that are still decent and also do i NEED anything else to lower it? like shocks or struts? and i emphasize the word NEED!
I would like to buy off of ebay!
would anything get messed up if i only bought springs? would it be ok if i bought springs and shocks or i need all 3?
thanks in advance!

20s with a 2" drop? You might have some issues there.....Anyhow Yea you CAN lower it with just the springs but, after a while your ride is gonna get really rough. The best you could do is get some Shocks/Struts to go with it. I have 18s with the Eibach pro-kit on mine...They were about 230. I dont know your price range so I cant tell you whats cheap or not.

Cheap springs are cheap because they are less-well designed or of less-suitable materials. Either case, you'll end up with a mess and buying better, more expensive springs later on.
You get your 20s on there with some taller-than standard tires, and you'll like the way they fill the fenderwells, or you'll want to reduce the gap. If you reduce it too much (~2 inches or more), you'll find yourself in the position of adding other hardware to keep your car from falling apart or wearing out in a hurry. I'll let others tell you about what you need for 2-inch-plus lowering. I wouldn't consider it for a car I expected to use.
I ran aftermarket springs with stock shocks and struts for a while before going for the better solution: new shocks and struts. The stock ones worked just fine with the new springs, same as with the original springs. Turns out that wasn't real good, that the new shocks and struts made the whole thing work like it should have in the first place. Big difference.
So, don't even consider springs without shocks, nor shocks without springs.
Anyone who says one brand or type of product is "best" is probably just echoing the opinion of some random forum poster who had one experience with one brand or type of product, and would feel foolish to declare otherwise, because he followed that advice. Every reputable manufacturer makes a "best" product for a given situation, not for any and all situations. Unless someone has tried them all in all situations, "best" is not a supportable assertion.
In the case of springs, he who says "Eibach makes the best lowering springs" might be correct: I understand they do a lot of manufacturing of springs for FRPP, Steeda, and others, so Eibach may have made a lot of excellent springs that don't carry their name.
The best springs I have tried are Steeda Sport. Lowered my V6 just less than an inch front, just over an inch rear. Perfect for me. The best shocks/struts I have tried are Tokico D-Spec adjustables. Expensive, but worth it. Car rides better than stock in street trim, super-controllable and predictable autocrossing. So "best" is Steeda and Tockico, for me.
My choice wheels are 19-inch. With 275-35 tires they clear everything just fine. I'd like maybe a half-inch less tire-fender gap, but not enough to go for too-tall tires. I don't know if it is true for other tire sizes or profiles, but the expensive, heavy tires I chose for my 19-inch rims give excellent ride comfort in both street and high-speed travel. I understand the 20s might be a little rough on the street, and don't know if they would respond to the same treatment.
Everything is a compromise. If you don't give a shirt about ride comfort or vulnerability to road hazards, you make one set of choices. If you don't care about looks, you make another. And any of a wide range of choices in between.
Gather all the facts you can possibly use, shuffle them in with your own judgments, recognize opinions for what they are. At the end, you'll be best off following your own advice. Who needs all these opinions, anyway?
