In a way, I think it might be better to be an Amateur and take the time to read the warnings and do it the recommended way than to behave likesome arrogant, "I know it's all BS because I'm a proffessional and I know all there is to know and the car manufactures are dummies and can't possible match my brilliance".
Hook, line and sinker!

You sir, strike me as a huge, humongous void, surrounded by a sphincter muscle.
Thanks for coming out!

This may be credible to you but...There are many mechanics but few good wrenches and even fewer experts. The simple physics of this experiment doesn't make sense. Everyone uses ford rear ends because it's one of the few things they actually do well. Just as in life if done wrong the pumpin jack point will cause problems but if you are a mechanic you know that these damn things are extremely strong.. Especially on the lighter half of a vehicle. It is a mute point

OMG... You simply do not get it. BTW, I am a mechanic by trade. I have been one since 1974. Yes, many people did exactly what you say. The problem is, the damage that is done by doing this is not something you will immediately see. It is damage that happens over a long period of time. However, most people sell or trade their vehicles before the damage is seen. Make itsomeone else'sproblem I guess. We are not talking about bending something you can readily see. The bending I describe is very small, very incremental, thousands of an inch at a time. Something you will never see with the naked eye unless you have very precise measurement tools. However, as someone else mentioned, your bearings and splines will definitley "see" it and result in their early demise.

She could definitely bend an axel! LOL
Still on this subject I see.....from what I have read it looks as if I will HAVE to watch it so it does not get out of hand.... remember that the factory manual does NOT suggest doing it. Do it at your own risk and live with whatever decision you make afterward!!!!!
