bullet exhaust
Anyone ever heard of bullet exhaust. A muffler shop was telling me about them saying they are louder then flowmasters. i have never heard of them so I was just wondering if anyone has experience with them.
I believe they're basically a set of overpriced FRPP GTA mufflers with different looking tips. Louder than stock GT muffs, but nothing really spectacular (especially when you consider the price.)
Bullet mufflers are like Cherry bombs, a casing straight through with a little fiberglass batting in them. Very loud, old school. They call them Bullets because they are small and round shape like a bullett (if I recall, about 5" diameter in the middle section).
Bullitt mufflers just to be clear, are the mufflers on the new 2008/9 Bullitt edition Mustang. They are unique to the Bullitt and are more agressive than the GT manual mufflers. I say manual because on 05+ Mustang GT's, the mufflers on the manual are more agressive / louder than those on the automatic, they are NOT the same mufflers.

Bullet Style != Bullitt Style. heh
Also, where did you get the info that the mufflers are different between the automatics and manuals on the GT? (never heard this before, just assumed that they would be the same, changing mufflers based on tranny seems weird)
The Shelby GT (not 500) has the same ones when you LOOK at them. Different tips tho.
I spent some time half crawling under the Bullitt and the Shelby GT while getting my oil changed this morning at the dealership. I had assumed they put the stingers on them. It looks more like the GTAs.
So Sad. I love the Stingers. Much better than the JBAs I had.
I have bullut mufflers on my car. They are Dynomax Racing Bullet mufflers. 2 1/2 inch inlet and outlet. The outside diameter of the muffler is 4 inches. I had these installed ahead of the axle and had my stock mufflers deleted. This is similar to the Pypes mid-muffler exhaust but I did mine before the Pypes system was designed. I think they copied my design .
