need help, car wont start!!
So I went to start my car up this morning and nothing happened. It made a click, click, click, click noise and the cd player started changing all 7 cd's and the interior lights started blinking and the car wont even make the locking door noise. It sounds like it's a battery thing and whenI jump started it everything was fine. I went to checkers and had the battery tested....perfectly fine, what the hell is it then? so i went home, five hours later when i go to start it up again same thing happened, nothing. What do you guys think is going on?
I can take it to Ford tomarrow but i know all they will do is scratch theirarses for 10 hours and tell me the car is fine. Im sure some of you guys can diagnose the problem. your help would be greatly appreciated.

check connections?
if the starter is trying to turn over its not that
alternators have nothing to do with starting soooo, scratch that
check to make sure your car is completly in park (if youve got an auto), sometimes the neutral safety switch isnt kicked and it wont start
try brushing off your battery terminals with a wirebrush to establish a good connection
other than that.... thats all i have for now

if you can, put it in neutral or something, then put it back into park pushing up the selector as far up as you can go. if that doesnt work, try pushing it up and turning it over at the same time.
if that fails, then check your connections, terminals, etc.
im pretty sure that it wouldnt even try to turn over if it was the neutral safety, but i could be wrong

ok so i opened the hood and made sure everything was attached, everything was, so i went to start the car and it took about6 seconds of turning the key untill it came to life. it was a very weak startup and the 7 cd's are still changing, lol. Somethings still wrong if stuff like that is happening. ill let this post soak untill tomarrow afternoon and if no one knows the answer i'll call Ford, wtf. Thanks for your help sharkbait.
Itried to start the car again to see if the same **** was happening, now it takes5 seconds and some sputtering to start the car. somethings low, be it the battery (which when i tried to play a cd says low battery) or the spark is not great enough, or some fuel line/switch is not working. but im no mechanic [&:].thats all the info i got, thanks guys, im going to bed.
I know that when I brought my car home after I bought it, I had electrical problems right away. It seemed to be almost intermittent where at one point it acted like the battery was weak or the alternator wasn't holding a charge. I took it back the next day and they changed batteries, but ended up witht the same problems acting up again after about 3 days. I took it back and they changed the alternator and all seems to be well now and it's been a year.
What have noticed and have read is that there can be some grounding issues. Also, I've read and have heard of issues with the shaker system, where it goes through the whole CD changing deal and that seems to drain out the battery. I make a point to completely shut everything down, stereo, AC, lights etc, before shutting the engine off and I don't have any problems. I have had an issue a couple times where I didn't shut off the stereo and woke up the next morning to find my battery was too weak to start up the car. I should but haven't run through to find if there's a grounding issue. I've just dealt with it by shutting off everything and I use an MP3 player now instead of CD's.
I was always taught that you shouldn't be starting a car with accessories like AC and stereo on anyhow.

The battery is perfectly fine, in-dash gauge reads high voltage. the cd's only change one time and takes about 30 seconds, it's not constantly doing it, and this is the first time it hasever happened.I leave my ac and radio on every time i turn the car off, only now, 2 1/2 years of having my car, haveI had any trouble. Thank God i have a warranty.nice roush by the way.
Still sounds like a battery. Voltage reading has nothing to do with cranking amps. Clicking soundis
either a bad starter solenoid or battery. If the car only made 1 click, then nothing...that would be
a cable connection issue. But your getting multiple clicks, then it starts.
Back in the old days, the solenoids would get too hot to engage the starter. My friends and I all
carried big *** screwdrivers with us to we could manually jump the car by touching the positive
lead on the starter to the ground of the starter. Screwdrivers got pretty chewed up.
