Alternative to painting rotors
I was going to paint my rotors red but when I got the paint I didn't think it was a bright enough shade of red. So I started to look for an alternative since I didn't want to buy fancy (expensive) red rotors. You might be thinking if you can afford the car you can afford fancy expensive rotors. I have no intention of ever racing the car I just want it to look good when I'm driving it. I found this website www.calipercovers.net and decided to give it a try. The caliper covers arrived and I was able to put them on without removing the wheels. The next day the new rotors arrived so I ended up taking the wheels off anyway. What do you think?

Ah fer cryin' out loud... Every time I think I'm done, someone posts something cool that pulls me back in...
gandyj, I don't see any images in your post, but the website link works...
I have been thinking about doing this...so for the painters...
Are you just pulling the wheel, taping the rotor off and spraying the exposed part of the caliper?
Also...are you priming first or going with a few thin coats of high heat paint.
I assume on my torch red Stang...I should go with a bright red. Anyone think a tan would look odd to match the accent on the car or would that be impossible to keep clean...or look silly?

I couldn't figure out how to post pictures on this forum so Ijust copied my post from a different http://www.fnsweet.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45322forum over here. Read the entire thing and you'll see my pictures and anyquestions about cooling should be answered. Sorry for theextra stepsbut I couldn't figure out any other way to do it.
Wow those caliper covers look sweet, how well do they fit and are they very obviously covers or are they pretty smooth? They're a little pricey but may be worth it
