Default BLACK BOX RECORDER ?

When I went to the strip tonight I had A person tell me that the 05 has A recorder in it .He also said it records for 6 months engine activity and then trips over after 6 months.Any truth to this.Oh and I ran A 13.90

Just about all newer vehicles have this feature. If the car is computer controlled, which includes just about everything these days, then they can access the information. I am not sure about the 6 months worth of memory though. I believe it only records the previous 15-30 minutes of information such as speed, braking, etc. This info has been used in accident cases to show fault especially cases where deaths occurred. Just an FYI.

It takes a very special certification to access those boxes. I know that only 2 people outside of law enforcement in the state of Texas have that certification. I'm pretty sure ford can't even look at it.
