What are the advantages/disavantages of the 2005 to 2008 Mustangs compared to 2004 and older?

I was leaning toward a 2002 to 2004 GT, now torn between them and the newer models.

The older models were made with Women in mind.

 

I think the quality of the newer models is much better than the older ones. I do think the 4 valve motor is probably a better platform than the 3 valve, but the aftermarket goodies for the new ones probably offset that. I also think the 05-now models may make a better collector item 25 years from now.....but that's a story that's yet to be told.

 

UMMMM......unless hes talking about a Cobra or Mach 1 he wont have a 4v......99-04 GT's have the 2v 4.6. The new 3v is far superior in every aspect compared to the 2v (except sound[sm=boohoo.gif]). The 2v 4.6 does not respond very well to bolt ons at all. A full bolt on 2v is a fair match for a stock 3v. The 3v responds very well to bolt ons and you can easily put over 300 to the wheels. Now talking FI the 3v will be able to make more power then the 2v. alot of guys with 3v's on here are putting down 475 to the wheels....where as 400 is about the most I would run on a 2v for safety purposes. Styling is all opinion. I have seen plenty of new edge gts that look much nicer then s197's. What one person likes/dislikes is all opinion. Now if your talking 4v then thats a whole different story.....4v>3v>2v[8D]

 

The S197 chassis is a lot more rigid than the SN95, making it handle better with a solid axle rear suspension.

 

inside is alot more comfortable in the 05+s. i had a 04 mustang before the 07 mustang and i would never go to a pre 05 mustang again. and if you look the 3vs are better than than the 4v on the N/A 4/6L. look at the bone stock 05 GT compared to a MAch 1 or 01 cobra. the mach 1/cobra are lighter and have more hp but yet are slower. 05+ gt has 300hp and mach 1and cobras are rated at like 320 or something. another thing to consider is that the mach 1 and 01 cobras are tuned on 93 octance and 05 mustangs are using regular 87 octane and still are faster..i know alot will not agree with me but i have talked to alot of master techs that have confirmed this

 

well yeah I would have to dissagree....the 03-04 Mach 1's/99' cobras are not slower then the new GT's.......The Mach 1 is rated at 305 HP and can easily pull on a new GT. The new GT's and Mach's are very close stock for stock......the Mach has the weight advantage and slightly more powerfull. It would be a drivers race. I know of alot of Machs that beat new GT's. I love my new GT but you have to give respect where it is due.......plus why the hate on the new edge interiors.......I personally like them and find them comfortable.

 

I don't like any mustang from after 71 till 05. at all so im going to say the 05+ looks better, is faster, and has better build quality. It also has the most comfortable interior Ive ever had in a car. i drove it from California to Wisconsin and my *** didn't hurt once! My personal opinion is that i would rather have a 05+ 4.0 V6 instead of a 04 GT.

 

well the mach 1 also has i higher gear ratio than a stock gt, so the new bullitts should pull away from the mach 1

 

Mach 1s and Cobras are beasts....u need serious power to outrun them
