Default Buffing vinyl stripes?

When i had my stripes installed, the installer left scratches in the vinyl while applying it and said they will just buff out. The are just a bunch of little scratches, i assume they are from the putty knife looking tool he used to apply the vinyl. He said wait a couple weeks and then buff the stripes with a buffer wheel and they will dissapear....

Well, the thing is, Ive read on here a few times that you NEVER buff vinyl stripes with a wheel. It is said that it will pull the stripes up etc. and mess them up. What im wondering is why a professional vinyl installer whose been doing it for 30+ years would tell me this? Or maybe ive read wrong and buffing is fine with vinyl stripes? idk, hopefully someone can help me out? thanks guys

I'd like to know as well. My stripes have scratches too. I've found that if you so much as look at the stripes while theyre dirty, the dirt will scratch the crap out of them.

Can you get the vinyl guy to buff them out for you? Seems to me that would be part of the deal of installing the
stripes if the "need" to be buffed to be "right".

That way, if he f-s them up, it's on him, if you f- them up, it's on you.

+2. I just had my stripes installed on tuesday and part of the cost was to bring the car back in 1 week for stripe cleaning and any minor trimming that may be needed

well if the installer said to buff them and on here they said to not buff them with a wheel, why not buff them by hand?
