Keychain remote
Anyone having problems with having your keys in your pocket or where ever, and setting off the factory "alarm" horn by accident??
I has happened to me a few times, now I always wonder if the door locks actually stay locked...Or even the trunk...
I see Steeda has a billet setup, looks like they replace the plastic with some aluminum.
I am just curious if anyone has seen any kind of lockout, or cover for the buttons??

Yep.
I opened up my remote and put a spacer
between the 'help, panic alarm' button
and the switch on the circuit board.
No more accidental panic alarm activation.
It can be activated in a pinch with little difficulty.
Here is a pic of how I did it.
The spacer can be cut from anything that is the
right size round with a hole in it. I used a cover
from a 1/8" phone plug.

Can't say this has ever happened to me that I know of. Of course, if I had ever unlocked it
and walked away, can't say.
I have the Fusion key now too, the panic button is recessed a bit, so it seems like it would
be hard to activate by bumping...

Clever idea! I've never had an accidental activation of any of the functions though. Maybe his pants are too tight. [:-]

On my last car I had a remote start and sometimes had the keys in my pocket and squat down for something at work and a little while later someone would come up to me and say hey, your cars running!
Thank god gas was alot cheaper then.

No but I have tried to open up my car with my truck keys and vice versa. Damn similar looking key fobs!

Programm the truck remote to the Stang and vice versa.
Now both fobs open both vehicles.
