Nope it filters the air in my mountain cabin

Here's your sign
Well, that's really funny, but that doesn't answer the question as to whether it filters ALL air, fresh or re-circulated.

Unless you have a corn plant full of pollen in the back seat, I'd say it only circulated outside air.

At the 3 year mark, I changed mine for the first time. It was definitely in need of changing (was very dirty). I'll do mine about every 1.5 to 2 years now. I'm in Minnesota and never drive on gravel roads. Just open hood, look on passenger side behind battery. You'll need to pop-out several plastic fasteners that secure the plastic vent cover there. Underneath is filter. Takes about ten minutes.

I make it a point to change mine once a year, surprisingly dirty.

No, it does not filter on recirc.

Hmm... no corn plant, genius, but what if someone smokes in the car?

Reminds me of when I used to go the dealer, I told them to change it. The service mgr said "oh Sir, the Mustangs don't come with a cabin air fillter, so I guess we can't change it then, right? ha ha ha". I didn't want to argue, so I said "Oh ok then..." I've never been back there since !

Easy to change, and I bought a Bosch brand filter at AutoZone. Probably cheaper than getting one from Ford anyway.

You are probably right. It is easy to type things that we wouldn't say face to face. I have learned to be careful about what I type because of working at a university where all communications are by email. You don't want to p off your colleagues.

Stoenr, I love your photo in your sig. Something about seeing you three cars ahead of the 'vette is cool.
