Well...it is time. Long term storage.
Like an impending storm...my day is here. Leave for Iraq on Thursday....Lord willing, my third and last gig.
Never had a car I cared about before, so it never was a concern before. Now things are different.
So I am looking at 180ish days in the garage. I do have a cover, but I think my wife will struggle getting it on or off.
So...should I:
a) fill the tank, add some stabil, cover her up and just leave her sit until next year?
b) just go about business as usual and have my wife drive it to the store once every 10 days or so to keep things lubed and oil flung in the right spots?
c) some other plan?
Car is brand new still (basically) so all fluids are what Ford put in it. I seem to remember that covers on cars long term are not a good thing...but maybe that was an old wive's tale. My garage is heated, but not cooled...and other than a stray bike handlebar offers protection from all the elements (sans my two legged elements running around).
My wife can drive the car, but she like her car better and I think she feels worried that she may hurt something that I talk to...maybe that is a good thing.
Any experience in this area?

its better to have her drive it once every 2 weeks or so... would be better than letting it sit.. or not even driving it around just even starting it is good... had a lot of people come back to screwed up cars when we went to Iraq... but we did 419 days... a little different than 180... good luck buddy and be safe....
Thanks...I was thinking along the same lines. She makes a trip to Wally world every week or so...so maybe that will be the time take it out and move the fluids around a bit.
There is a silver lining...with my bonus from this one comes FI. Smiles all around!
