Default Seat function

The upper area of my seats do not "spring forward" at all when the release lever behind the seat is used. They have to manually be pulled forward. Also, they do not return to their original position when pushed back. Is this normal for the 2005 mustang?

FirstFord....

What can I say! Ford did what it had to do to keep the cost of the car down.... THAT was one of those lost features I would assume.

Sounds like the way mine is... but, at least the lever is at the top, and not at the bottom of the seat as in previous models.

Besides, nobody drives mine but me, so the driver's seat stays put. I let everyone else deal with the passenger side.

My seats flew up in my first one as soon as you touched that switch, and I hated that.

Did you try to get it fixed under warranty? Sounds like a "defect" to me.

Mine does that too! CRAP!!! I'm gonna try to get my money back! What good is the best selling car in the US without seats that spring forward on they're own? I'm not gonna be a sucker and do it manually.

Uhhh, that was sarcasim btw.

That li'l release lever on the upper rear part of the seats is a POS. Flimsy plastic and has broken on BOTH of my seats. I rented a GT-H and the passenger seat upper lever was broken too. I had my levers replaced under warranty, don't let 'em BS you. It's poor design/ cheap material/ factory defect... Now if some company would make a billet part, I'd buy them.

My drivers side seat back has to be pulled forward as described by firstford.
But my passenger side will spring forward just fine.
