Cast/Camber Plates?

Cast/Camber Plates?
What do these really do? I'm soon to put on FRPP Springs, Tokico D-Spec Adj. Shocks/Struts, BMR Adj. Panhard Bar, and BMR Rear Sway Bar...will those plates be necessary, and if so, what for?

They could be needed depending on what lowering the car will do to the camber on the front. I needed them after lowering as my front camber was off a bit. I would recommend having an alignment done after you install your parts to see where things are...if needed you may have to install them to correct the camber.

Caster-camber plates are used to let you set alignment specs either after lowering, to your own specs (as opposed to Ford's FSM values), or both. These cars have enough caster as it is, so you won't need more, hence having a caster adjustment is not particularly valuable (like it is on a Fox/SN95). The usefulness of the camber adjustment depends on where your car ends up at with the new springs and how enthusiastically you tend to take corners. Frequent hard cornering typically calls for a more negative camber setting than mostly moderate driving.
I'd do the springs, check camber myself, and go from there. Any number of DIY camber measurement methods are accurate enough to at least let you know if you need adjustment. Or for some of the members here to advise you, if you're not sure what sort of setting you want to end up at.

Yea, camber bolts are usually all thats needed, if that.
The caster does not seem to be adversly effected with mild lowering.
Now you might need a bump steer kit as well. Or special ball joints.

Sounds to me like the plates should just be included in what I buy? Just don't want to buy a part that cost $200+ and not need it...and don't want to have to put those on later. When I get my alignment done after putting the new suspension on...can they set my UCA? (it's adjustable)

The pinoion angle specs are not a widely
known item out there amongst alignment shops.
Here are the specs:

Plates are for racers, camber bolts are for
minor camber adjustments like you might need.

the Ford workshop manual. They are available in printed
form for about $150 off eBay. All you need is an inclinometer
with a magnetic base and the specs I gave you in an earlier post.
