Well I got home last night (or this morning) at 4AM. At 6, the phone rings, it also rang at 8 and 8:30. So I figure since the phone keeps waking me up, I mught as well get up. Plus I had this GT on the brain. I had to wait for the girl friend to get home from raising money for the Leukemia Foundation. Her dad passsed away from that this past January. But enough of that, after she got home, we went to the dealer. It is over an hour away. Went inside to talk to the salesman and pointed me where the car was sitting. Went over to it and they had it all detailed out waiting for me. At this point, I could still back out of the deal. Went on the test drive and came back. They had all the paperwork ready for me to sign. And guess what, yes I signed the papers.[sm=owned.gif][sm=groupwave.gif][sm=happybounce.gif] It is mine now. I just couldn't pass this one up. I have to admit that the sonic blue is a beatiful color wspecially with the metallic finish. I just had to have this car. The leather seats are alot more comfortable than I imagined they would be. Besides, I love the smell of new fresh leather.

On the way home, I had alot looks from people, all good. We stopped ny Walmart to get some groceries and I parked all the way in the back of the lot. By the time I got to the store entrance, I had about half dozen admirers already. After leaving there, now the journey home. There is a combination of highway and country roads. Going down the highway portion, I had to watch my speed and yes every now and then the foot had to get a little heavy all the sudden. I can't believe how much power this has right from the factory. On the country road part, I came up behind a slower car. I down shifted into 4th and before I knew it, the slow car was in my mirror. I love the rumble of the exhaust system when you stomp on it. Then I came to the part where there are alot of hills and curves. This is where the real fun started. The hadling of the car is superb and the power going up those hills is great. I didn't have to down shift going up any of those steep hills. That car climbed those hills like it was nothing. I can't wait for the first trip to work because there is a stretch of road about 13 miles long that is nothing but hills and curves. I take that road at 60-65 in my 02 V6 Mustang, I can;t imagine how it is going to be in this GT.

Anyway, with all the people that came over to look at it and giving rides, it now has 160 miles on the car. I haven't had any time to take any pictures of it today, but will try to do that tomorrow.

There is one thing that I have to say and that is Joe Machens Ford in Columbia MO gave me a really good deal on this car, they had everything ready for me when I got there and they are really nice people. I highly recommend Jor Machens Ford if anyone is interested. I have never had a car detailed on delivery like this one and give me the red carpet treatment like they did. There wasn't a speck of dust on this car anywhere, even tires were shined. But now there are a few bugs on the front now.

I know everyone remembers the convertable commercial where that guy's face is frozen smiling. That is way I feel. Now since I have only had 4 interupted hours of sleep, I am going to bed.[sm=sleeping.gif]

Sorry for the long post, but I have been waiting for this car since November 17th of last year.

Well, I guess my vote is too late but I'll chime in with the second vote for mineral grey (wonder why [8D]_

I only hope you are TRULEY happy with your color settlement and the dealer doesn't wind up with a mineral greay GT next week

Congrats O5GrayGT....now your gonna have to change your login. Just curious, was this the same one that was supposed to be painted with disney characters? Did you save her from that horrid destiny? I think you made a great decision, the sonic blue is much more striking color than the mineral gray, even though they are both nice colors. Leather is great and easy to clean, but I'm worried my boxers will punch holes with their nails, I'm not sure how tough the leather is, and I'm not willing to find out.

Congrats! Glad to hear you're enjoying it I love the color, but I've had several blue cars and it was time for something else. Plus I REALLY had to have the red interior

==Wow - am I the only one who thinks mineral grey is the best color, lol!!! I have a '05 GT Premium with red leather interior - its exterior is grey with silver stripes and it rocks!!!==

That sounds like a fantastic color combo!!! Do you have any pics?

I ordered a Red Fire GT and when I got the opportunity to get a Sonic Blue car I jumped at it. The color is great and I don't regret letting the Red Fire go one bit.

Well BROWN is a stretch, but I agree it isn't a typical shade of grey or charcoal. Its more like Pueter - which to avoid any confusion, probably would have been better choice for the color name. Or maybe Platinum??

Anyway, congrats on the score!
