Default new...

hey guys, i just got my first mustang (06 GT) im 17 so im not that great at like working on cars or knowing how things run, but i use to have a 97 Z28, and did most of the modding on it by myself...

this car has had some work done to it, but imnot sure what and if i need to re-tune it.. (i bought it from a ford dealership used.. with 14k miles)

i know it has a flowmaster exhaust, and a Steeda throttle body (im not sure what size, do they say?) the salesman said it had a aftermarket CAI, but it looks stock to me, he then said the filter is different and that too looks normal.. and from whati heard these mustangs require a tune after you do like anything so i was just wondering if i were to get a new CAI would i also have to know what my throttle body size is, and what gear ratio i have (idk if its the stock ones or not..its steeper than my fbody's for sure though)

and also

what is the normal order of modding when it comes to these mustangs? im sure theres a thread about this so ill go search for it...

my ultimate goal is to hit 12s and possibly keep up with my friends 03 Cobra... thanks guys!

Most recommed mods as follows:
-Exhaust (you can chose whether or not to change the headers and mid-pipe...most people run either a cat-back or axle-back...but serious gains come from long tube headers and mid-pipe)

-CAI+Tuner (flip flop the first 2 if you want )

-Gears

-LCA (non-adjustable) and UCA (adjustable) w/LCA relocation brackets

-If you are manual go short-throw shifter

-Springs/Struts/Panhard Bar

-Driveshaft (one-piece)

-Supercharger/Turbocharger

don't have to mod in that order...but most people do their mods in that order so do what makes you happy...but we would like to know what your goals are for your car?

i have pictures of some of the things on the car

photobucket

and thanks for that list ryan, i'll go close to that, also i saw a youtube video of some guy's mustang and how he modded it, it seems pretty cool [i think it was like tacobill or something like that]

and my goal is to try and get into the 12s or atleast keep up with my friend's 03 SVT Cobra (stock)

oh also, is there like a website out there that has like write ups on like installs or whatever, like with my camaro i went to www.installuniversity.com and such, i was just wonderign if the mustang world had one also...? thanks

tacobill has done many write ups that are in the 2005-2009 mustang forum. Check them out...lots of good info. Car doesn't really appear to be modded except for the flowmaster exhaust...
