Unhappy Huge SCRATCH!!!

Ok so I finally decided to deal with the hood shake I get after making my nonfunctional hood scoop functional by hood pinning it. And after having to legthen the frpp hood pins and snapping off 2 not 1... 2 screws in the hood I was drilling out the screws and snap the drill bit snapped in half and scrapped the heck out of my hood about 3 " long and DEEP like into the alluminum deep. After a couple words and tossing my drill across the way I resorted to the dremel to cut off and flush them in the hood. They are still in the hood... just ground flat. The pins are in and look great aside from the HUGE SCRATCH!!!!
So my question how do I fix it???? touch up paint??? I heard of a fill prime and paint setup on "trucks" I think, Any advise would be nice and other then bodyshop rape I'm open to ideas. At this point I'm thinking touch up paint and polishing compound.

atleast u have an excuse for a new hood
and soory probably not wat u were lookin for but a scratch that long and deep
will look sillly if u just use touch up paint to fill it in
well u could try using touch up paint and then having it wet sanded and buffed not sure if thats gonna help but its worth a try

Should have followed my hood-pin write up... How-to section is a great tool.

That scratch on the hood that went all the way down to the metal can only be fixed by a pro. Sure, you could always use touch up paint, but is going to look like crap. Remember that a scratch on paint is normally "V" shape. You would have to fill in the V with paint, then buff the heck out of the fill to even up the surface....how do you do that without affecting the surrounding paint? You can't...soooo, go pro. Or just use touch up paint to cover up the scratch and improve a little by wet sanding, then polishing....good luck.

you can go buy a can of primer & touch up paint, but it'll never be the same until it is fixed properly by a bodyshop.

Looks like you will have to get it professionally repainted...BTW, all you had to do to lessen the hood shaking is to adjust the two outer rubber bumper stops under the hood (i.e. turn them clockwise about a half-turn to a full-turn) and it will help a lot...sure easier than installing hood pins. Don't mess with the two inner rubber stoppers.

Here's something you might want to try. Its a Dupli-Color video demo that shows how to fix scratches in paint with their touch up kit. Its worth a look.
