Question Ford Extended Warranty

How many miles does your car have and did you purchase the extended warranty?

My car has roughly 33k miles and before 36k I need to extend my warranty.

How much did you pay for your extended warranty and have you used it, if so why?

yes, I purchased the 5yr/100,000 mile extended warranty when I bought the car in 2005. my car currently has 24,000 miles on it and so far all the incidentals that I've had to go to Ford with have been covered by the 3yr/36,000 mile warranty.

I have had a few cars in the past that I didn't have the extended warranty on and had to pay out of pocket for things that would have been covered, so when I went to buy this one, I decided not to chance it again.

it is my daily driver, but I work out of my house so I can choose when to drive it and when not to....like right now, it has been raining these last few days in Georgia, so it is locked up tight in my garage until the sun comes back out. if I need to go somewhere, I can either take my wife to work or plan my day around her work schedule (she's a teacher). you always hear of those people that talk about their car not being driven in the rain and such...I am honestly one of those that can count on 2 hands how many times it has been driven in any type of bad weather these last 3 years, and the only reason it was, was because I got caught out in it. but I can tell you the very next time it was not raining outside, it was being washed & washed. I guess I sorta have OCD when it comes to my car...lol

How much was the extended warranty? And can you get it any time before your warranty is up? Or did you have to buy it right away?

So you guys that buy the extended warranty are betting men? Betting that your Stangs will poop-the-bed before it's time, that is.

I have over 24,000 on mine and I've had it 14 months. It's NOT my DD but it IS my long distance ride (I typically travel 1000 - 2000 miles/month). If I felt I needed an extended warranty I wouldn't have bought it. I guess I'm too used to my Toyotas.

if I remember correctly, you do have to buy the extended warranty before you hit a specific point in time of your factory 3yr/36,000 mile warranty. I would definitely call the dealership where you bought your car and ask them for details.
