Default exhaust cutouts?

as i have mentioned before, i use to own a Z28, and before i got rid of it i had purchased a pair of exhaust cutouts (too small for my 2.75" diameter z28) they are both 2.5" in diameter, and from what i've heard this is like the exact size as the mustang tubes? i havent heard of anybody using these on the S197 GTs.. could i weld them in after the midpipes? and if i do this will i need to do any reprogramming on the computer? and would it sound decent or just plain crappy?

thanks for any advice!

I am running them with no further tuning and have no issues. I had them welded in just before the x. As far as sound goes, they don't sound all that great just putting around town (lots of popping and crackling on deccel), but when you go WOT.....Good clean obnoxious fun. They're probably not for everyone though.
