Default Traction Control Question

Does the traction control do anything in first gear? The reason I ask is I can get on it hard in a turn in first and basically drift through the turn, but when I hit second it continues to spin for about 2 feet then the engine drops hard, traction is regained, and throttle comes back up. At first I thought I just didnt have the torque to keep the wheels spinning in 2nd gear, then I realized it was the traction control kicking in. But I have not noticed this happen in first gear.

It'll keep you from spinning tires from a launch, so yes

My TCS seems to work in all gears, when playing around in the winter.

Hmm... my tcs always kicks in 1st gear. Its pretty embarassing if im trying to fishtail a corner and i forget to turn it off and it kicks in... and it sucks when its on and you go WOT and it kicks in. Sounds like you missed a gear or something..

I turn it off when launching at the track or on the street.

tcs on these car can be a REAL pain. i'm just too afraid to get a tune that shuts it off full time. as soon as i do that there will be a situation where i would actually need it...
