Default Cams?

I've been looking around for cams, and the website don't really show dyno results when it comes to the different cams. For anyone who has cams in their 2005-2008 mustangs let me know which ones sound and perform the best.

I may be wrong but I know alot of people say cams aren't worth it on the S197s although some people on here have done them. Maybe they will chime in and let you know.

Default Hey

Check out Blowbyracing.com...they have vids and dyno sheets.

But really, I would look at the Comp Cams, they have 3 options one you drop in with no tune or mods good for 20 horse, an other you need to upgrade the valve springs and tune good for 30 or 35 can't remember, and a third that you need more head work and tune as well.

This numbers are there claims, no experience here.
I am sure they are getting these numbers though in conjunction with air intake and tune and exhaust. Just look at the article notes, but from my experience on my 92 there cams are top notch.

Also keep in mind its relative to what you are doing, N/A or blower....

But to be honest with these cars I don't know, back on the fox's we ran split duration cam's for boost...I don't even know what the durations or lift of any of these are.

I installed the Ford Racing Hot Rod Cams and gained 18rwhp through out the rpm range. I know thats not alot considering the cost but I also wanted that lopey muscle car sound. There are some other ones (like Comp) that make more hp but dont have that sound. The sound was just as important to me. Just my .02 though

Hey RedNyt,

What was the install cost for the FRPP Hot Rod Cams? Did you have a dealership install them?

No, they shouldn't as long as you aren't throwing codes.
