Default Help with tint

Ok, so I purchased the VHT nightshades to do this tint. I did a light sand with 1500 grit paper, then I applied a few light layers to each taillight. The problem is that the tint looks blotchy. The driver side looks worse than the passenger side, which isn't that bad. Does anyone know what I should do to smooth it out? Wax it? Rubbing compound??? Any info would help, thanks.

Sorry if this is the wrong section

Doesn't look bad at least in the picture, just looks like it needs some clear coat. you may have to sand them down with a coarser grid and move to a finer to even it out or even take it back down to the base. Also maybe practice on something this time to make sure your spray is even and consistent.

Yeah they look good, it's just that if you look really close they are a little ....swirly looking. It's pretty hard to tell though.

You are not spraying correctly. You need to spray it with a more wet look. Not light coats. Overlap about 50% each pass, make sure it looks wet and even when spraying on.

Use laquer to remove that. When you spray it correctly it should be some what glossy, use 3 coats. Knock it down with the 2500 and then hit it with a clear coat 3 coats. then hit it with 2000-2500-3000. and then a rubbing compound and go to town with that. It may take you a few tries to figure it out and you might end up spending 20-40$ on supplies but the outcome will be well worth it once you figure it out.

Don't do that half a$$ spray job.

If you have more questions pm me.
