Delivery Question
According to the 800 number my car is supposed to be built week of 5/16(this week). Well I just got off the phone with my dealer, and according to a printout they have it says my car has a delivery schedule date of tomorrow (5/17). Anyone else get their car delivered the same week as it was supposed to be built? I thought that he was reading the printout wrong, but he double and triple checked it. Hopefully I will be smoking the tires on it by Friday.
I'm finding with listening to people that the 800 number seems to be wrong a decent percent of the time.
For example, I called the 800 number this morning (5/16) it says "As of April 28th" - - what?.. no update in their system for 2 weeks? then it tells me I am scheduled for a build the week of 5/23... This morning I get an email from my sales rep telling me they are expecting delivery that same week.
If you have a vin!.. you can go to:

and ask Kzinti for the true spiff on your car. He works for Ford and looks up your vin in the production computers.
Mine it seems is hung in production with no information available.

That 800 number pisses me off, I must mumble or something because I have a horrible time trying to get the system to understand me. I say C400 and it will come back as 4002 or 400A or K402. Am I the only person who has problems with it? Wouldn't surprise me if it was just me.

I always have trouble with them mixing up the Body Type (T82) and the order number (D003).. But I noticed the same problem with them not having updates for a while.
I've even had them ask for the VIN after I said "Order Number"
As of this writing, the 800 number is saying "As of May 13" so it looks like they are catching up. Can't say the smae for my car though... still clean/unscheduled

I have found delivery date is when it is released and arrives to your region shipping location, look at about 5-7 days later. At least that is what I got from the dealer yesterday. The guy at the dealer is a friend, so I'm not getting a line of ****, he wants it in soon, cause we're going cruising when it gets in.
Everytime I call the 800 number it has problems understanding when I say T82, but my brother can call it everytime for me and have no problems. I was talking to a friend of mine who is a speech language pathologist and she said that voice recognition software picks up on different tones, inflection and reflection in your voice, so it recognizes some peoples a lot easier. That is also why some people sound louder over intercoms in stores even when not yelling. I asked a simple question, and she gave me a huge educational lecture. At least I can say I learned something.
As much as this may scare you, the dealership probably has the most reliable information. The problem is, a lot of the time they will not share it with you.
The dealership will have a production date and anticipated delivery date. Most of ours come in three or four days prior to the anticipated delivery date, and we are not in Detroit but in North Carolina.
Some good news.... Ford is opening up the floodgates on the GT pent up demand. Right now it is easier for us to get a T82 or T85 (GT Coupe & GT Convertible) than it is to get a V6. In addition, the window for ordering them has been extended until June 16th, which is about two weeks of extra allocation. If you are working with a dealership and you are still clean and unscheduled, you need to find another dealership. The larger ones are having no problems getting the vehicles. I took an order yesterday that should have a build date assigned by friday, and we are not the exception. We are simply large enough to get plenty of allocation becasue almost all of our vehicles come in presold. There should be a dealership like this near you!

OK, enough on that.......It get blood boiling everytime this subject comes up.
What the hell am I typing? anyway, the best thing is going to the link that Professor Wizard posted. That would be your best reliable source of information on your order as long as you have the VIN.
