Default Need help removing Rust on Muffler tips

I have tried turtle wax chrome polish/rush remover. I have even used the green pad from the kitchen. The rust does not come off. My current exhaust is the frpp stingers. Would CLR remove the rust or will that remove my chrome also?

I use NeverDull on my tips. Should help with your rust.

I know this sounds crazy, but I saw on Mythbusters they used balled-up aluminum foil and Coca-Cola. just wet the foil and polish the tips. It's worth a shot.

My exhausts seem to have this blackish-colored residue on the outer circles....is this what you are talking about? Mine doesn't seem to want to come off no matter what I do.....I thought it had something to do with my cai/tune and using higher octane gas....is this true?

My stingers dont have rust on them really, they have the black residue like saddle has stated. Usually that is a sign you are running rich for the a/f ratio. Its unburnt fuel. Neverdull helps but you need to use it regularly so it doesnt build up to bad.

that mythbusters thing is with Tin foil not aluminum foil. just pour coke on the tip and rub with the tin foil and it takes it off. It worked on my brothers chrome bumpers.
