Just go to a muffler shop and get them to make tail pipes for you. You can get much better looking tips than what Pypes offers. Most likely it will be cheaper.

I had 18" X 4" chrome tips done at a local shop when I was in Az. They bent the pipe to match the factory position so I can re-install the factories and clamped the new in place. Cost was $80.00 and we tried different tips to get the sound right. Been on for 10,000 miles and still sounds good. I see no sense in $200+ for something like this but if you have it to blow.....

u tried different tips to get the sound right? seriously?!?

unless you are saying that you tried tips that had baffles, or packing in them, and tips that were like the boom tubes, i have to say that "tips" wont do **** for sound differences.. its appearance strickly..

i mean.. thats what ive always been told..

on my old ford straight 6, (300) i had duals with no mufflers. i had 2 1/4 pipes with no tips. i put 3.5 inch tips on and i sounded a little deeper, crazy as it may sound, it did work to a *little* extent.

Different diameter tips (no baffles) gave a different sound. Larger tips gave a deeper sound. Tips change the sound with a muffler very little if any. Without any muffler, both the diameter and length of the tip will change the sound. So, yes, we tried different tips to get a better sound. Believe it or not but I have done this on several vehicles in my 57 years with no reason to prove myself with tall tales.

I was in Safford, Az. at the time. Worked at a tire shop for a short time called Haralsons. Had the exhaust guy there do the tips.
