anywho.. my question - Does anyone know, or have you seen, a blank kit for these for Mustangs, and will they even work with Mustangs ?

They have them blank online. Not sure if they will work in the mustang but they should. I dont really like it though, my fusion has it and it makes the key longer and bulkier in the pocket. Only difference on my fusion you have to press the trunk button twice to open it.

I purchased mine on eBay. They work with 2007+ Mustang models only. Got it cut at Ace for free and programmed it in about 3 minutes.

only for 2007 and 2008s. there are tons of these on eBay, thats where i would suggest getting them from. they are very easy to program, you do it with the car. the Lowes and Home Depot by me would not cut the key, because there is chip in them. i got mine done at a local hardware store. very nice key, its alot smaller in your pocket.

just a little info i found when buying and programing mine.

I was wondering about that for my fusion. I only have one key fob right now. can I just buy it on ebay and take it somewhere to get cut and then program it myself? I read somewhere that you need 2 remotes to program another one...

did you program it the "typical way" ? key to run 8 times in so many seconds door locks cycle, push a button, etc.. ?

yeah, i found the blanks on e-bay, but no one would commit that it would work for a mustang... well, it can't be much bulkier than my key fob + key combination.. my dad has one on his mariner, and i think i'll like it..

thanks.. didn't know about that 2x trunk button.. interesting..

You need two programed KEYS to program more KEYS.
This is to keep unwanted key programming to a minimum.
With remotes, you only need the remotes you desire to
program to the stang in your possesion before starting
the programming process.
The OWNERS MANUAL is a good place to read all about it.
Maybe you have one in your glovebox or center console?
