Almost right on, but on regular gas the Bullitt gets 315 pound-feet of torque. On premium it gets 325. It keeps its HP rating of 315 on both regular or premium.

ok. i think the last time i read about the numbers was when the bullitt first came out, so its been a while :P thanks for the info.

if you want a cool mod for your bullitt, you could add MRT's 1968 style hood (wow, i don't have any affiliation with MRT, but it seems like i've been pushing that hood lately...) it is pretty cool looking and it makes an s197 look more like the old 68 mustangs...

here's the thread i started if you're interested wolfie (or for anyone else who is interested) https://mustangforums.com/forum/2005-2014-mustangs/482720-mrt-1968-style-hood.html

I have seen the hood and think it looks great. I will wait and think about it for a while.

The combustion properties are slightly different for 87, 89, 91, 93, etc, so you tell your car how to react with the different ratio's of fuel/air mix. Roughly.

More exactly it changes the timing to avoid knocking.
Lower octane fuel wont handle high octane fuel timing
curves without knocking. It just adjusts the timing to
avoid knocking with the different grades of fuel used
but get the most RWH from them without knocking.

I get 23 city / 27 highway. This is using 89 octane with no tune yet.

long story short: the Bullitt does not need 93 octane, 87 will work just fine

however, the bullitt is able to take advantage of 93 with the stock tune

I'm pretty sure the Bullitt has the same 4.6L V8 engine regular GTs have except it has the power package upgrade. I guess that upgrade is the Ford Racing cold air intake and Ford Racing exhaust. Plus from what others say here about the higher octane fuel, the Bullitt has a different tune geared more toward the 93 octane fuel.
