Default GETTING BLOWN!!! GOT SOME QUESTIONS!!

Hey guys, im getting the paxton novi 2200 installed on my car on Thursday (thanks Grabber CS and 07 sS197) and im getting a Brenspeed tune that i have ordered as well. Im thinking that my rear wheel horsepower will be around 460-470. How long will the stock motor hold up? I dont plan on getting on it all the time but i do like to drive a little spirited on occasion. i currently have almost 18k on the car. Can i try it out or should i give it a little time before i get on it? This is my first experience with a supercharger and any info would be great!!!

Your engine should hold up without a problem with the Brenspeed tune. I have the Paxton also for over a year now and have driven it pretty hard without blowing up. The only problem I've had is the 3rd gear burning up in the trans. If I read your mods. right you have 4: 30 gear ? If so its to much for the s/c , you will have no traction at all. I have 3:73 gear and Hankook 275's and still have traction problems.

Congrats!! You will love the paxton kit. I know I do. Once you get that thing bolted on you are more than welcome to join the Paxton Crew!! Post some pics of that beast, from your mod list it should be looking very nice!

agreed, your engine should hold up just fine.

on your first trip out with it, roll into
the throttle and listen for pinging....if there
is none, you are good to go

welcome to the boost club

+1 on checking the car out first. For your first WOT run try 3rd or 4th and listen for the sound of rattleing marbles in a can. If you hear it get off that gas, that is detonation. If not just enjoy.

As far as your gears 4.30's might not be bad with the right tires. Since they are already installed I would try and see if you can make the combo work. Worst case I would go with 4.10's.

Just be careful and have fun. Until you get a feel for the car dont punch it in congested area's. The car will really get up and go, and sometimes sideways.

Have fun and post pics.

I will definately post pics when i get it on!!! Im looking forward to it!!! What kind of gas mileage do you guys get? I know it all depends on how heavy my foot is but say i only want to drive to work without getting on it...would the mileage be similar if my foot isnt in it or will it still be worse?
