Default engine problem / no light

Got a problem here,

I drive my car only about 1.3 miles to work every morning. In the last week or so, I have felt a slight hesitation in the engine when I put it in reverse to park it. Didnt think much of it, maybe just a cold engine. Yesterday I went out for a long drive and I swear the engine felt like it was running a little rough. This morning as I am driving to work I go around a sharp corner and the engine simply dies. It took 3-4 attempts to restart it than is seemed to run fine. There was never a "check engine" light. ANY opinons would be much appreciated.

I couldn't say what the problem is but I truly think 1.3 miles twice a day on a cold engine wouldn't be the best thing for it. Walk or ride a bike to work...

I wish I could. I have to wear office attire so walking or running is not an option. I often carry a briefcase or gym bag so that is even more of a hassel. I thought of buying a beater car but then I would be buying a car to save a car, which makes no sense.

Either way, back to the topic, anyone have any suggestions?

you might want to consider
spraying the MAF with MAF
cleaner and also maybe cleaning
the throttle body

I agree.

Pxdig, how long do you let the engine warm up before you drive it?

I only have a 1/2 mile drive to work. I drive about 5 miles around the block
to warm the engine completely every morning.

Sure, I enjoy driving it and it is all country roads, no traffic lights.
I would walk except for the same reasons as pxdig.

1/2 mile to work... drive to work... Why bother?

Not looking for an answer. Just rhetorical...
