Help picking Drag Strip Tires

Help picking Drag Strip Tires
I need some help figuring out want tires I want to get just for the Drag Strip. I love my BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2 285-40R18 for the street, but I only am running 13.35 with them. For next year, I want a set of rims and tires just for the Drag Strip.
What type of tire should I get? What size tire and rim? What brand of tire?
Please teach me tires.

the best/stickiest IMO:
15" Bogarts with skinnies on the front & slicks on back
economical:
xtra set of stock wheels with mickey thompson 275/40/17 e/t street or s/t drag(bias ply)
I run e/t streets in this combo as well as many others, while I do have suspension work, I cut consistant 1.6-1.7 60ft times

You need to tell us more info. With the drag radial in an N/A application you need to launch really hard. My best 60's in the 1.7x range were with a 265/40/18 BFG. 5000 rpm dump (a little feather) and go from there. Back them into the water and do a second gear burn out until they smoke and then go up to the line. You can try different things like different PSI or shorter burnout.

If I had the resources, I'd be running bogart fats and skinnies at the track with some serious M/T meat. I can't swing that, so I run a spare set of stock rims with 26x11.5x17M/T ET Streets Bias Ply Slicks. To be honest, they hook so hard that my head hits the seat. 60' times are consistently between 1.6 and 1.7

How you do a burn out?
Pressure you are using in the tire, have you experimented with different pressures?
All of your suspension mods.
Trap speed?
How are you shifting?
How are you launching?
All of these things are variables that can have drastic effects on your ET. When you are NA, a lower ET will sometimes cause you to have a lower trap which is just fine and really what you are looking for. Trap speed is more indicative of how much power your car makes. If we know your trap, most of us can get within a .10th or two of your best run possible. I assume with the mods in your sig with an adverage DA you should trap in 106-108 range. This is good enough for the 12.8 (or faster) I spoke of earlier.
When you look at the time slips you get at the ticket tower, all of the information on those slips is worth something. Some cars just scream down the 1/8th really quickly and don't gain alot of speed the second 1/8th. When I ran N2O, I would be at 88-90 mph in the 1/8 @ 8.0, with the turbo I was making much more power but only 8.4 @ 90 trapping 115.8-117. versus the nitrous trapping 110-111 mph. The turbo did not get it as much off the line as the nitrous, but made up for it on the big end.
Sactown and I would race and I would usually be door to door with him at the end. He was trapping 109-111. The whole point is making the car do it's best with what you have. It's been a learning experience for me as it has for most of us. If I knew what a 2 step could do for me at the line I would have got one when I had the turbo put in. Keep your time slips, wirte down on each slip what you did directly after the run, taking some notes to remember what you did good or bad. Be honest with yourself and realize as a driver you can always improve.
Practice and experience (track time) is the biggest modifcation a driver can invest in.

26x11.50/17 ET Streets you cant go wrong. I switched from MT 275/40/17 Drag radials and I wont ever go back. I launch at 5500 on these and get no tire spin. The only thing you have to get used to is towards the end of the track you can feel the rear end swaying but its not a big deal.
