Default rusty rotor fix

my 06 Gt has parts of the brake and rotors rusty. not the actual braking surface but at the top of the 2 rotors and at the hub. Not a big problem but i dont like the way it looks. any suggestions on how i could go about painting that. high temp paint obviously, but anything else? thanks

There is a G2 caliper painting kit you can use, since I assume its your calipers rusting. You can even get it in a color that matches your exterior paint.

I think he is talking about the top of the rotor where it rusts... I guess you could finesse some caliper paint on the rotor up there but might take a while...

I am planning to take care of the same issue either sunday or monday. I am using the G2 caliper paint, matched to my exterior color for the calipers. Also I will be fixing the rusty rotor porblem as well. I will be using a light gray color on the rotors so it wont stick out so much. I will make a thread on it.

Yeah you would think. BUT that would cost them more money.... Thats why it will not happen.

this is what he is talking about (pic of mine, they do it too)

the inside and outside edges of the rotor that the brake pads do not touch is covered in rust cause by contact with rain or faucet water....im really not sure of a guaranteed way to fix this, however, some rotors are sold with a type of zinc coating that covers the entire rotor...when you apply the brakes, the pads will scrape the zinc coating away from the contact area but the zinc coating on the edges will stay intact protecting it from water and rust....

I sprayed mine with duplicolor high temp grey primer almost two years ago, and they have held perfectly so far.
