30k maintenance service
OK. I've changed the oil, fuel filter, air filters and rotated the tires. All that remains is the inspection of the cooling systems, brakes, exhaust, ball joints etc. My question is, do the dealership techs really inspect those items? What specifically should I look for to save me some time and quite a bit of money?

Pffffffttt..... You're done. Those inspection items, especially at 30k miles, is to make old folks spend money.
- Cooling system - if you don't have any coolant loss, you're fine. Flush and refill at 60,000 miles.
- Brakes - if they're not making noise, don't feel like they're grinding and not pulling, you're fine. Especially if you have state inspection.
- Exhaust - get underneath and inspect it if you're worried about it. The car's too new to be worried about it at this time. You're fine. Especially if you have state inspection.
- Ball joints - are you experiencing steering/handling problems? EDIT: Excessive tire wear? See "Exhaust" above.
