Default Sloppy Transmission

So I have an '05 manual GT with 22,000 miles. I've had it for a few weeks and haven't really liked the transmission. It feels very sloppy when I shift in gears 1-3 and today I drove over a bump and my shifter rattled like crazy. Anyone have similar experiences? I tried the "search" function but you can imagine the word "transmission" brings up tons of results.

I've put about 13K on mine and, IMO, this is not a tight transmission. The transmission is sloppy compared to many other cars I have driven and there is a lot of drive line "klunk". But, it doesn't impead the performance, the car works just fine, its just something I've gotten use to. If you don't have an aftermarket shifter, thats something you might try. Although I don't have a one piece drivesaft, some guys say that will also stop some of the "klunk".

Hey thanks guys. I was getting kinda paranoid that I bought a lemon. The 2000 GT I traded in had a much tighter feel to it so I'm not quite used to the new one.
