Angry 2006 Automatic Broken Shifter box!!!

2006 Automatic Broken Shifter box!

I took my car to the ford dearlership where i bought my car because my shift box poped up and basicly is broken. i have to jam the *** all the way up to get into park and now neutral is d and reverse is in between R and N. What caused this!! by the way the dealership said the factory waranty would not cover it because more than likely it because its debree that got inside. WHere can i find a replacement or a performance one. please any information is vital.

I would be going to a diff. dealer so fast and never return to that dealer again. Unless you did something to cause the damage they whould repair it under warranty. If you damaged it somehow, then I would visit a local junk yard and get one out of a crashed car.
