Default Error code..but not being pick up.

Well, I have a small problem I'm getting an error code. The problem is that my tuner is not picking up the code for whatever reason, it does however clear the code. Right before my car throws a code my instrument panel says to check the gas cap. Its really starting to bug me. Funny thing is that this happens when I'm starting to roll, sometimes, and I dont give it enough gas. Does anyone know what might be causing this? I know that it would help if I was able to get the code.

if it's not the gas cap itself, i would then
maybe suspect the o-ring seal under the
fuel pump hat. it seems unlikely that any
thing else was disturbed during the s/c
install, that is why i would start there.

good luck and let us know what it turns
out to be

Loots- did you get the GT500 pumps for the install of the Whipple kit? I ask cause I didn't originally and upgraded later on. If you did I bet that has something to do with the code your getting on the SCT. Check your seals and your cap and report back here.

The SCT will clear the code but not display it? Hmmm.....interesting? Do you have aeroforce gauges? or any other gauges that may help to diagnose the problem? (A/F wideband, fuel pressure, boost etc)

I did not use the GT500 fuel pumps am using the KB BAP right now I plan on upgrading fuel systems later. I will be adding gauges in the new two weeks. The gas cap seals seem to be fine no tears or anything unusual.

Ok so start by getting a new gas cap since you did not do the GT500 pump install I doubt it is a seal on anything having to do with that. I did the same thing and I recall talking with many times about the GT500 pumps and all in PM. Sorry. wait for a few more fill up's before buying and as long as the car itself is running properly. Sometimes the codes pop up even after the code has been reset. Go to an automotive store and have them check the code to see if it will give you the actual code and post it here if the code show up again....hope it helps

The same thing happens to me periodically but the difference is that I am not supercharged. The "check gas cap" message will display and shortly after the engine light pops on. My diablo will not pick up the code either so I usually end up clearing it and then a couple hundred miles later the exact same thing happens again. I have already purchased another fuel cap and that did not fix it so if you are ever able to diagnose the problem please let me know.
