Default Heat vs. NOS

I live in the Mid-South area and I was told that if I put nitrous on my '06 GT, I would have to take the bottle out on hot days to keep it from blowing a valve. Has anyone else ever heard of this or had a bottle valve blow on them?

i dont know much about nitrous, but it sounds sensable to remove it on hot days. think of it like a soda bottle, my wife had a few of those blow up in her car last summer in the vegas heat (110 deg. plus). but if i had a nitrous kit i would take the bottle out anyway unless i was planning on racing or abusing the rear tires that day. not to mention potentially getting rear-ended and turning it into a projectile.

Makes sense to me......what color is your car and do you have tint? Trust me makes a big difference in cabin temps...... Oh and to anyone that may know.....does a 170+ degree car (cabin temp) on a hot day cause the NOS valve to blow?

It's black with dark tint. Yeah...it's worst case scenario.

I feel your pain and as a safety concern I would remove the bottle if the car is not being driven..... I know many NOS guys on here and they will chime in soon....Friday night and out partying I am sure.....(my night just started)

Another quick question while we are on the subject. I have a Diablosport Tuner with a Steeda CAI and Axle-Back Exhaust. Will I have to re-tune with NOS?

With a 75 shot? I dont think so but wait for the NOS boys to chime in..... anything over 75 shot I heard needs a tune.

OH and welcome to the forum!

Thanks. I have a pic up now. This is the sale photo from where I bought it. I've done a few mods to it since, but nothing exterior related yet. Thinking about blacking out the rims.

Just resized it. Thanks though. They are MOB Torrio 20's, with Sumitomo HRZ II tires. The guy who owned it before me put them on. He also put a push button start on it.
