I have a 05 Mustang, I have been told by the Ford dealer here that the grille from the Mustang Pony 06 and up will not work at all on my 05, can somebody confirm this to be true or not.

 

all 05-09 GT grilles will work on any year GT

all 05-09 V6 grilles will work on any year V6

BUT, you can NOT put a V6 grill on a GT and vice versa

 

yeah man, hat they probably mean is you don't have the wiring and switch, which you will have to get.

 

you are right, I would have to get the wiring and the switch along with the lights, Ford offers a kit for that, however, the dealer told me that it is not capatable with the 05, I was surprised on that to be honest, I was just wondering if anybody else knew anything about this or not.

 

The 05 S197s are a little different pig than the 06-09 S197s.
Its the first produced 05s and changed about mid production.
The dealer need the as-built data for the SJB for a similar S197
V6 that has the PP fogs and all the options your has to boot.
There was not a PonyPackage grill available for the 05 V6.
So finding the SJB as-built data for an 05 V6 with the same features
as your 05 V6 but with the with the foglight logic is impossable to do.

It could be that the dealer cant program the SJB for the fog light
option because the earlier 05s SJBoxes were slightly different and
then they were changed to the current SJB now neing used.

Maybe its a software level thing. But hey, I have fogs with the factory
GT headlight switch and its all operates OEM but does not employ
the SJB FogLight logic to function. Simple relays do the trick.

Its not up to a Ford Tech to do but it can be done on a professional
level and be made to look and function like OEM for years and years
to come by the properly trained person.
