Default custom tune question

I just got a custom tune want to tweak a couple of things. My idle is a little low and the throttle response is too strong from a dead stop. It's hard to take off from a dead stop (automatic transmission) without it jumping too hard.

I have the SCT X3, so I believe I can adjust the idle rpm with that (says so on the box).

What about the throttle response? Is that something the tuner will have to do on the dyno or can that be done with the SCT as well? If the throttle response is changed, will I lose any horsepower throughout the rpm range or can it just be adjusted at the low end without giving anything up mid and high rpm?

Thanks

Call their customer support. They should be able to tell you what you can change or they should send you revised tunes to correct your issues.

The idle speed shouldn't be a problem for you to adjust but the throttle response probably involves non-user adjustable parameters.

Default custom tune

I should have mentioned it was tuned on a dyno, not a canned tune.

i would think the shop that did it could do it for you without having to pay for extra dyno time.

definitely go back to the shop......Very Unlikely you will be able to adjust the parameters of the throttle response

Default throttle response

Thanks for all the help. I'll take it back to the tuner. Just curious though, is the throttle response a stand alone parameter like the idle rpm, or will is it more involved? Seems like it would be separate from anything else. I'm hoping they don't have to play with the air/fuel or timing again.

Thanks.
