Default Need some gear advice

I know, this gets asked all the time, but what should I get for gears? I have a 05 GT, 5-speed, and unlike most people, I am torn between 4.30's or 4.10's, not 3.73's or 4.10's. So which one, 4.10 or 4.30? I do drive highway every day, but it is only 2-3 miles and then the rest is city, but I do not want to be going 70 at 3000 rpm's. The car has stock tires now (235/55/17) but I do want to get larger diameter tires. What gears would you get?

Go with the 4:10's and you will love them in the City, and they are absolutely ok on the highway for a daily driver. I travel about 70 miles daily and in 5th gear mine is reving only at about 2400 rpm's with stock Ford 235/50/18 wheels. One of my best mods

if you go with a larger diameter tire, i'd probably go 4.30's because they'll act close what 4.10's would with regular tires.

That's what I was thinking when I asked this. I want to get a 28"-29" tire because I don't plan on lowering my car and I want to fill up my rear wheel wells.

Probably 75-80.
I have noticed my speedo reads about 3mph high, and I rarely break 75 in a 65 or 65 in a 55, I don't need the tickets, so I think even if I don't get tall tires 4.30's would be great. According to a excel chart I found I would be at 83 mph at 3000rpm's, so the fastest I will go on the highway (75mph) would probably put me between 2500-2700rpms. I think I can handle that since my old truck with 4.10's went 80 at 3000rpm's in 5th. I think I have my mind set, but please chime in, especially those with 4.10's or 4.30's.

I see. That's what keeps me from getting gears. The fast lane here is 75-80mph almost everywhere when there's no rush our traffic.

No problem, I'm pretty sure I'm around 2100rpm with my automatic at 70mph.
