You can have cast alunimum, or cast iron. Our engines are cast alunimum with iron cylinder sleeves. Casting is just the method in which it was made, as opposed to being forged, milled, etc.....

mmr 850hp stroked alum block $3900 or stroked cast block $3100 or
800hp 4.6L alum block $3400 or cast block $2600

livernois 1000hp alum. stroked block $5000 or 4.6L block $4800

i talked to a shop here about taking my block and just putting in the forged rotating ***. but the cost from drop off to pick up would be $4500.
install for a bought short block was $1900 to $2500.
so i am looking at a cost from $4500 to as high as $$7500

that is a load of money........give your opinions so i can deside what to do

I'll agree that the shortblock prices on the MMR products are great and I have no bad experience with them but just reading around has kinda scared me away from them. Let us know how it goes. I'm interested in doing this in the near future.
