Default 2010 Engine question

A buddy of mine has a supercharger kit for 05+ mustang GT. He is looking into getting one of the 2010 mustangs when they come out and wants to know if the supercharger kit he has for the 05 will work on the new mustang. Anyone have any idea?

Almost positive it would work, but too soon to tell. May need to make slight modifications as the new front end might have changed where the radiator and such mount. So the intercooler might no mount up the same.

And It might work but i would certainly wait another 6 months or so when we get confirmation as I know the 05-06 is actually different than the 07-09 is certainly small areas

+1

I just saw today on the American Muscle site that their superchargers are sold separately for the 05 & 06 and the newer model S197's. There is also a huge power difference:
http://www.americanmuscle.com/mustan...rchargers.html

162 hp & 99 torque for 2005-06
vs
120 hp & 65 torque for 2007+

for the same cost! Any idea why smaller numbers for the newer models?

Maybe different compression ratios on the newer S197s perhaps.

yes, it won't work.

Tell your friend to do the smart thing and order his 2010 with the factory supercharger!
Bam!
Instant classic!

Default Supercharger

Depending on the kit, I am pretty sure that it won't work if all you have is the 05 kit. I bought a used 05 kit for a 2007 GT and it would not work without converting the 07 cooling system back to a 05 version. Roush sells a conversion kit that makes their 05 supercharger work with the 07 car. Having said that, the new Mustang is basically the same as the old but with a cold air kit on it. Therefore, it you have a kit that will work with the 07, I am betting that it will work with the 2010.
