Mac = DRONE
I switched out the slp loudmouth axleback for the mac ss axleback yesterday on my 08 gt and omg. The drone inside the car is simply unbearable! I turned my music up very loud and could still hear it. I don't mind small amounts of drone as I know that it will be present with any aftermarket exhaust but the mac drone is ridiculous. I should have done my research first as what drew me to the macs was the all stainless steel design and the supposed old school muscle car rumble. I was on my way to the mall to do some xmas shopping and had to turn around and come home as I developed a major headache. The stang is my daily driver and there is no way I will be able to tolerate the drone on a daily basis. Needless to say the slp lm's will be back on in about 1 hr and at that time the macs will be up for sale as well.

Macs are known for their drone... They are also known to be arguably the best sounding muffler on the s197's...
The placement of the muffler is one of the biggest causing of drone in these cars... Just mount the mufflers under the car near the H pipe. A member on here (1morepart) did that with flowmasters, a muffler shop should be able to do that for you for a couple hundred bucks. You already have the macs, don't waste them since its a simple fix.

I had a single MAC on my 6er and had to put a resonator on it so my brain wouldn't turn to mush. You FEEL the drone of the MAC.. it's like sitting on top of a bass string. I think it rattled a few things loose on my car too (seriously).. due to the constant vibration.
That's what prompted my to go with the x-pipe / GTA setup... and I couldn't be happier.

First of all I do not wish to nor have ever owned a mini van. Second of all I am not whineing as the drone was simply annoying just as your comment is. That extreme of drone is not part of any muscle car I know of. BTW it IS MY CAR and I will do with it as I please. If I want to leave it stock then I will and if I want to mod it I will. I just put my slp's back on and am happy now. Oh and by the way, why don't you keep your negative comments to yourself and STFU!
Sell me your macs!! I know the secret to making them sound oh so good and they will rev so smooth! Ill trade you my flows + some cash.
I love the drone though. I drive over or under the speed limit so I will be in the perfect rpm range lol
