Default Tools..

So naturally now that I have a little christmas money burning a hole in my pocket homedepot decides to no longer stock the husky 1/2" drive torque wrench I was looking at getting.

And ofcourse, the jack/jackstand set I wanted is now out of stock just in time for sales to hit.

Lame. Should I wait on this stuff or just say screw it and get something else more expensive? I don't need any of it until my next oil change at the end of January.

that's a nice set, i have all of that but
i bought it all at separate times...the
creeper comes in very handy, if you spend
much time under the vehicle

i would probably wait, that's a nice price...

i would get a much better jack...aluminum racing one would be much better. it will cost you about 200 for the craftsman one. 120 for one from autozone, they are exactly the same too i think. You do have the warranty with the craftsman though.

As for the creeper, good luck having room to use it underneath. I have 8-10 jackstands and none get the the car high enough to use a creeper really. I prefer the free method of using a big piece of cardboard from the box my toolbox came in.

The stands are not bad, i got a 2 pairs for 15-20 a pair from sears on sale.

Thanks. Is the weight the main reason you recommend the $199 floor jack?

I've got the autozone brand(?) "SUV" floorjack that goes to 31''!! I love that jack!

I can jack that puppy up so far to get the jackstands fully extended under the cross member up front and axles out back if needed.

And all my tools are duralast brand... haven't broke one yet until the wraps came off the mini vise grips last week.. I was surprised because those tools have been super solid...

Took it to the local autozone and they gave me a new one on the spot... can't beat it. and with the azone card every couple purchases I get something free.

Oh yeah.. the wheels popped off my cheapo azone creeper a month ago... creepers are the only thing I've found worth spending the extra dough on...

And get you some "monster"/race ramps. Those are invaluable.

Love my creeper....as I do spend time under the car...has a nice soft cushion for your head and the plastic forms to the shoulders so as to not limit movement... I would get it as it seems like a deal...
