There are quite a few threads about plates. Try using the search function to find some.

Some people like personalized plates, some don't.

I do. I think they're a fun little way to be yourself.

If the plate IDs you in some way, like with your name or nickname, then sure, why not. But I'm not a big fan of the jokey personalized plate. First, they're usually not that funny, and second, it's like telling the same joke over and over again for several years and expecting it to be funny. Also, plates that let the world know what you do for a living, or announce how bad-*** you think your ride is, seem kind of sad and desperate.

That said, I saw a kind of funny plate several years ago that read 3M TA3 (Imagine seeing it in your rear view mirror).

My vote: don't waste your money. The DMV already gets too much of it.

Cos Omak which means F*** your mom in arabic could mean a nice long scratch down the side of your car. At least you would know it was an arab who did it.

I have personalized plates with my name. I have seen some pretty good ones for the S197. Some relating to the color, blugotu, some relating to the car, badstang, fastpny, etc. Let your imagination go wild.

How many characters/spaces are you allowed in your state? In PA, you're allowed 7 characters and 1 space. That could help us come up with some ideas.

I think it differs by state, at least it used to. Maybe its the same across all the states now.
