Default SLP Power-Flo Axle-Back Exhaust installed

Well, the SLP Power-Flo axle-back exhaust is on my car. The verdict??

I must say I love it! It is at least twice as loud as stock (if not more), and it has a very aggressive, throaty growl. No hint of a fart can at all. From idle to redline, the sound is awesome (and even more so with the CAI/Pred tune in). I couldn't be happier... it is exactly what I was looking for... a very "muscle-car" sound.

I attached a pic taken after the left side was in, so you can see the difference in the size of the cans. The stock can looks huge next to it! [BTW, I started the car up when one side was done, and I couldn't even hear the stock side... I had to put my ear down next to the tip to hear it at all. ]

And, no, I don't have a video sound clip yet... so don't ask. [&:]

Installation was quite simple, and relatively easy -- remove 8 bolts & 2 pipe clamps -- reinstall 8 bolts & 6 pipe clamps. The most difficult part was removing the stock axle-back stuff. A couple of those bolts are tucked up above the mufflers (and out of sight), and a little difficult to reach. But, they came out OK; it just took some time to wrench them out 1/8-turn at a time. Since the SLP muffs are so much smaller, putting the bolts back in was much easier... not much in the way anymore!

Bottom line: I am 100% satisfied with both the product and the result. I think the Loudmouths would have been too much for me (and my neighborhood). I would definitely recommend this to any of my pals here. [sm=smiley20.gif]

Looks great, Don, wish I could hear it. But the neatest sounding car I ever heard was my pal's '65 Chevelle Malibu. It was a stone stock 283 2 barrel, with Mitchell glass packs and dual exhausts. It had the perfect rumble and purr. Not a hint of rasp or any noises that shouldnt be there. Man, Ide love to have the Stang sound like that!

Yea, I wish I had a hoist to use!! That would make it a lot simpler!! Draggin my 240-lb butt under the car was not easy. LOL [:@]

Man, that looks fine. Did you change your mind on the JBA headers? I thought I saw them in your sig at an earlier date. I want to hear them.

It still says "headers" in there... but, I'll do them at the same time the SC is installed. Then get it all dyno tuned together.

Awesome Don! Thanks for updating us on this. I was definately torn between the Loudmouths and the Power-Flos but you've made up my mind now. I definately didn't want to go too loud and obnoxious, but I still want that muscle car rumble. Thanks again and hurry up with that audio clip! Heh
