Default seat neck braces

Can anyone tell me if the neck pad on the front seats can be removed? I think they are ugly the way they lean forward and think after they are removed the interior would look better. I know all the safety reasons they are there for but still would like to get rid of them. 08 V6 Thanks for any help.

Yeah they can be removed, pretty easily too. Just lift them up as high as they will go normally, then on the side of the plastic pieces that the rod slides up and down you should see a small hole. All you have to do is poke something in to the hole, then push and hold and pull up on the headrest simultaneously. I hope that I explained it well enough.
