Question indash dvd install help

i know this horse has been beatin constantly but im asking again!!! i have the shaker 500 system. i was wanting to install th pioneer p4000 indash dvd player. for those who installed a 2 din dvd player or those who just kno...... what do i need to keep my factory door subs working? can i just use the quick connect adaptor to keep them or do i have to buy something extra? do i need the 5v or 12v power inverter? is there anything extra i should know when installing part wise? i will be running a p4000, RF subs and a RF amp. i just want to know so i can buy everything at once. thank you!

The factory door 'subs' are actually mid bass drivers and not true subs.
The factory amps need 5V to turn them on so a 12v to 5v regulator will
be needed as well as adapters to convert the Ford harness plug to
RCA type plugs for the aftermarket radio. Its really not worth trying
to interface to them but Crutchfield has all the adapters you need.

I got the DNX5120 from Kenwood. Perfect replacement and mated well with the Shaker 500 system. The speakers actually sound better with the new unit. Am going to put better speakers and should be really good to go. But as far as the radio, it has a great price ticket, has XM, DVD player, Changer capabilities, ipod connectivity, Built in Hard drive Garmin GPS, touchscreen, remoter, bluetooth, and more.

Mellow,

I have the same unit I am installing in mine. Did you use adapters to make the shaker 500 to the Kenwood? Also did you hook up satellite radio?
