351 Crate engine
I have been looking at purchasing one of the crate engines. I know a little bit about cars and have some family members that have worked on cars for a long time. I own a 2005 V6 and am looking to put a bigger engine in it. This engine caught my eye cause i liked the price really. I just wanted to see what you guys thought of the prospect. Its a 351 M-6007-s58 crate engine. http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...tKeyField=5685
Will it fit without too much hassel? Will i still be able to just buy a tune for it? What else will i have to upgrade on my car?

rear axle $800
Engine computer $1000
Fittings wiring etc $500
Engine $2800
Installation $4500
Dyno Tune $500
You won't be able to buy a canned tune, best take it to a dyno tune shop that has tuned mustangs before.

It's a carburator set up... minimal wiring and no computer, Legion.
The main issue I see is the low performance specs.
If you put a V8 in a sixxer, make it count
400 horses minimum, should be the goal IMO.

I agree. An extra 30 or 40 HP? Why bother? Drop in a 5.4 and be done with it!

A carbonated engine is always a great choice for the old school vibe. Slash at least a g from that price!
I once saw a carbonated motor, twice.
It makes you cool to have it.

That engine would sound good though. But that 8.5:1 compression sucks unless you're going to strap on a blower. Otherwise for N/A I'd pick no less than 10.5:1 compression.
On the other hand, I've never seen an S197 with an 8-71 blower. That would look AWESOME. Combine that with dual quad carbs and you'd be set.

You mean carbonated like a soda. I know exactly what you mean, even though I'm in my mid 20's i've drank several sodas in my time, from coke to well... you know.
