Steering Wheel Removal

Default Steering Wheel Removal

I need to replace my clockspring under the steering wheel, and before I go mess with it I just wanted to see if anyone has a link to a walkthru or some pics of them apart? i did a quick google search and came up empty handed, and frankly im too lazy to keep looking

You dont need to remove the steering wheel,just the air bag.Look behind the steering wheel,you will see 2 little plastic plugs.Remove them,then there will be two bolts that hold in the airbag.remove them and the airbag comes right out.Under that,you will see the clockspring.Its easy from there,if you need any more pointers,I will help you out.

Disconnect the battery first, whatever you do.

I forgot to mention that.Make sure when you lay the module down(airbag)you put it with the cover (mustang emblem) facing upwards.Im trying to copy and paste instrucions from the ford website,but it will not let me.I will keep trying though.

lol pascal i know i can do it, but tips are always good. see i thought this thing was behind the steering wheel, now i know the whole thing doesnt have to come off.

i'll kick its butt tomorrow when i have daylight.

just kicked its ****, and btw the steering wheel DOES have to come off. luckily, they aren't pressed on anymore so that makes it easy.

oh yeah and i lived dangerously, i didn't unhook the battery

They aren't pressed...
Most of the time, the clockspring is behind the wheel.
It's not a big problem though. Everything's easy.
